The Challenge
Law students juggle massive caseloads, dense legal reading, course outlines, and high-stakes exam prep — using a patchwork of outdated tools that don't leverage AI. The existing market lacked a single integrated platform that combined adaptive AI tools, interactive visualizations, and structured study workflows for both law school coursework and bar exam preparation. Students who learn through visual, interactive, and narrative formats had almost no options.
Our Solution
Bella Tech built LawSchoolKit as a comprehensive AI-powered study environment spanning law school and bar exam prep. The Case Briefing system includes a Reading Companion (AI-annotated legal readings with inline Q&A), a Case Brief Builder (FIRAC format with AI assistance), a Visual Brief Map (clickable horizontal flow diagram), and Brief AI Chat with quick-prompt buttons for common questions. The Concept Visualization system uses ReactFlow to generate interactive node graphs from plain-English legal concepts — 6 node types (Concept, Rule, Case, Decision, Outcome, Note) with distinct gradient colors, clickable detail panels with explanations, key terms, related cases, and mini quizzes. A Concept Map Library lets students browse, filter by course, and reload saved diagrams. Study Stories synthesize saved case briefs into NotebookLM-style narratives with chapters, color-coded key terms, takeaway callouts, and full text-to-speech. Bar exam prep covers all components: adaptive MBE question bank across 7 subjects, timed practice sessions, frequency dashboard, AI-graded MEE essays with IRAC feedback, MPT simulation, a Bar Readiness Predictor, full simulation mode, and NextGen bar content. AI study tools include an AI Tutor, Cold Call Prep (Socratic method simulator), Outline Builder, spaced-repetition flashcards with retention tracking, Legal Writing Assistant, Citation Assistant, and Advanced Document Analysis. The AI engine uses a fallback chain: OpenAI GPT-4o-mini → Gemini 1.5 Flash → Claude 3.5 Haiku — if one provider fails, the system retries with the next without the student ever seeing an error.

The platform covers the full law school journey from 1L through bar exam prep with 30+ integrated features. The interactive concept diagram system and Study Stories represent capabilities that don't exist in any competing legal education tool. The adaptive MBE system personalizes question selection based on performance history, and the AI Tutor handles any law school question with contextual understanding of the student's saved materials.
